Purpose of the Role
The Quality Assurance (QA) Intern will support QA people and Specialists in conducting quality assurance reviews in line with the approved QA plan and methodology.
The intern will work closely with the QA Team for structured training, coaching, and technical guidance. Exposure may also include participation in advisory and consulting assignments as part of professional development.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Auditing, Insurance, Risk Management, or Accounting from an accredited university
Experience
- No prior work experience required
- Must demonstrate professionalism, strong work ethic, and the ability to grasp concepts quickly
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
Sasria Agents and Ad Hoc Projects
Assist with performing assigned QA projects, including:
Sasria Agent Company Projects:
- QA follow-up on internal audit recommendations
- Proactive QA reviews
- Reviews relating to new agents
- Cancellations reviews
- Review of third-party IT service providers
Other QA Projects:
- Management-requested reviews
- Supporting other departments as required
Technical Quality Assurance
- Assist in identifying and evaluating organisational risk areas
- Support reviews of adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls using flowcharts and other evaluation techniques
- Assist in developing QA review programmes and procedures
- Contribute to identifying risks and compiling Risk and Control Matrices (RACM)
- Complete working papers in accordance with QA methodology standards
- Maintain professional client and staff relationships through meetings and engagements
- Participate in internal and external professional development opportunities and share knowledge gained with colleagues
Representation
Represent the QA function when required on:
- Company project teams
- Engagements involving external assurance providers or organisations
Training and Development
- Actively participate in personal development planning with the QA Team
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical and professional competencies
Ad Hoc Responsibilities
- Perform reasonable ad hoc tasks as required by QA Technicians, Older people, Specialists, or the Senior QA Manager
Internship Objective
This internship provides foundational exposure to quality assurance methodologies, risk assessment frameworks, internal control evaluation, and audit-related processes.
The programme aims to build analytical capability, governance awareness, and professional discipline required in assurance and risk management environments.
