Main Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to capture data accurately and timeously while ensuring the smooth running of daily administrative duties.
The incumbent will support data management processes, maintain quality standards, and contribute to efficient operational workflows.
Key Performance Areas
Data Capture and Management
- Accurately capture and export data across databases such as Redcap, Medidata and Inform
- Identify missing data, inconsistencies, and errors
- Follow up or report on missing data and discrepancies
- Resolve data queries and logical checks
- Maintain organised records of all data entry activities
- Prepare reports and summaries based on captured data
- Quality assure all data in line with SOP requirements
Administrative Support
- Ensure smooth day-to-day administrative operations
- Refer administrative support matters to the Data Manager or Line Manager
- Liaise with team members to clarify information
- Follow data management team instructions regarding data handling processes
- Perform ad-hoc duties aligned with the nature of the role
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12
- Computer literacy and excellent typing skills (essential)
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in data entry and administration
Desirable Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Experience in a healthcare environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database systems
- Demonstrated data capturing speed and high accuracy
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong ownership and accountability for tasks
- Consistent maintenance of quality and productivity standards
