Job Summary
The Procurement Intern will gain structured, hands-on exposure to core procurement functions within the Finance Division.
The programme provides practical experience in procurement processes, sourcing strategies, travel management, contract administration, and invoice processing, while supporting departmental efficiency through administrative and operational assistance.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management
- Procurement
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics or a related qualification
- A Degree or Postgraduate qualification is advantageous
- Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) are advantageous

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
Procurement Sourcing Process
- Learn supplier sourcing and material acquisition in line with company procurement policies
- Understand compliance requirements and governance frameworks within procurement
Processing Orders
- Assist in creating and managing purchase orders
- Develop an understanding of procurement system workflows and approval processes
CSD Report Compilation
- Support preparation of Central Supplier Database (CSD) reports
- Ensure supplier compliance documentation is accurate and up to date
Order Reconciliation
- Assist in reconciling procurement orders
- Verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance of procurement transactions
Managing Outstanding Documentation
- Request and track outstanding supplier documentation
- Monitor CSD reports and expired BEE certificates
- Ensure supplier records remain compliant with regulatory requirements
Tender Process Participation
- Gain exposure to the tender submission process
- Participate in public procurement procedures via eTenders and the internal eProcurement portal
- Support administrative requirements related to bid documentation
Travel Invoice Matching
- Reconcile travel invoices against approved bookings and budgets
- Assist in ensuring accurate payments and financial controls
Courier Services Management
- Support coordination and management of courier logistics
- Monitor service delivery and related documentation
Internship Objective
This internship aims to build foundational competencies in procurement governance, supplier management, compliance monitoring, and financial controls.
