A leading company in the shipping sector is recruiting a Sales (Technical and Cabin) Estimator for its Durban Branch Operations Department. This role plays a critical function in strengthening operational coordination between the Durban and Port Elizabeth branches.

The successful candidate will manage quotation processing, interbranch communication, and ERP system updates while ensuring strict adherence to response times and operational deadlines.

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to manage high-volume quotation workflows, ensure accurate cost allocation, and maintain efficient interbranch communication.

The position requires a strong understanding of operational processes, including quoting, order processing, picking, dispatching, and delivery within the company’s ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

Quotation Management

  • Receive quotations from the Durban Branch and import them into the ERP system.
  • Accurately allocate and add cost components before submission.
  • Ensure product specifications—price, quality, quantity, and units of measurement—are clearly reflected on all quotes.
  • Submit completed quotations within required turnaround times.

Interbranch Coordination

  • Monitor and manage high email volumes efficiently.
  • Categorize and prioritize communications based on urgency and deadlines.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with response time requirements set by the Port Elizabeth branch.

Order Processing Support

  • Receive confirmed orders from the Durban Branch.
  • Ensure timely handover and processing by order processors.
  • Track progress to ensure operational efficiency and delivery compliance.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Internet applications).
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
