Marketing & Digital Officer Job Opportunity

Alliance Life Assurance Limited is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the position of Marketing & Digital Officer. This position is part of the Commercial Department and is based in Dar es Salaam. The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and focuses on strengthening the company’s marketing performance, brand positioning, and digital transformation.

This role combines traditional marketing strategies with modern digital marketing practices to position Alliance Life as one of the most innovative and customer-focused life insurance companies in Tanzania.

Job Summary

The Marketing & Digital Officer will help establish Alliance Life as a customer-centric and digitally advanced insurer through integrated marketing communications and strategic brand development. The role supports both traditional marketing channels such as advertising, events, and public relations, and digital channels including social media, search engine optimization, and content marketing.

The successful candidate will contribute to building a strong brand identity while helping the company reach new audiences, improve customer engagement, and strengthen its market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management

The Marketing & Digital Officer will support the development and implementation of marketing strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives and competitive positioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing the annual marketing strategy aligned with company goals
  • Implementing Above-The-Line (ATL) marketing campaigns such as television, radio, billboards, newspapers, and magazines
  • Coordinating Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing activities including exhibitions, roadshows, branch activations, sponsorships, and promotional events
  • Managing the marketing budget to ensure efficient spending and strong return on investment
  • Coordinating with marketing and advertising agencies for campaign development and execution
  • Maintaining a marketing calendar aligned with product launches and key business opportunities

Digital Marketing and Social Media Management

The role also involves managing digital marketing initiatives that strengthen Alliance Life’s online visibility and engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing digital platforms such as the company website and social media channels
  • Executing search engine marketing and email marketing campaigns
  • Managing WhatsApp marketing and other emerging digital channels
  • Developing social media content strategies focused on brand awareness and engagement
  • Monitoring digital performance and improving campaign effectiveness

Content Creation and Brand Storytelling

The Marketing & Digital Officer will help create compelling brand narratives that connect with customers and build trust in the Alliance Life brand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing content strategies that support marketing and brand goals
  • Creating customer stories, financial education content, and product explanations
  • Writing thought leadership articles and corporate communication materials
  • Managing a structured content calendar for consistent communication across platforms
  • Supporting brand storytelling that strengthens emotional connections with customers

Brand Management and Communications

This role supports the company’s brand identity and reputation through strategic communication and media engagement.

Key tasks include:

  • Maintaining consistent brand identity and messaging across all platforms
  • Managing media relations, press releases, and media inquiries
  • Supporting crisis communication and reputation management activities
  • Building relationships with business, finance, and insurance media outlets
  • Monitoring media coverage and responding to public sentiment when necessary

Marketing Materials and Collateral Management

The Marketing & Digital Officer will ensure the availability of professional marketing materials that support the company’s sales and distribution channels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing marketing materials such as brochures, policy summaries, and product information guides
  • Developing sales presentations, proposal documents, and promotional materials
  • Coordinating with design teams and printing vendors for production
  • Managing branded merchandise and promotional items
  • Maintaining a digital asset system for organizing marketing materials

Customer Insights and Net Promoter Score (NPS)

The role includes supporting the improvement of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty through insights and feedback.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with customer service teams to manage the Net Promoter Score (NPS)
  • Analyzing customer feedback to improve marketing strategies
  • Identifying brand advocates for testimonials and referral campaigns
  • Developing marketing personas based on customer insights

Partnership Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility

The Marketing & Digital Officer will also support collaboration with partners and community initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing co-marketing initiatives with strategic partners
  • Supporting joint campaigns and cross-promotion opportunities
  • Promoting corporate social responsibility programs such as financial literacy initiatives
  • Supporting community engagement activities and sponsorship programs
  • Contributing to employer branding and internal communication initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, or communications
  • Experience working in industries such as insurance, banking, telecommunications, or FMCG is preferred

Professional certifications are an added advantage, including:

  • Google Ads certification
  • Facebook Blueprint certification
  • HubSpot Inbound Marketing certification

Technical Skills

Candidates should demonstrate strong technical and digital marketing skills, including:

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience using marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager
  • Video editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Mailchimp, or ActiveCampaign
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Jasper, or Copy.ai

Additional Requirements

The ideal candidate should also demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with creative agencies and external vendors
  • Understanding of the Tanzanian media and marketing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously
